Two Former John Hewitt International Summer School Bursary recipients return to Armagh to launch their self-published debut novels. Bernie McQuillan participated in Freedom to Write 2025 and her debut novel, The Lobster Pot (Indie Novella, London) is a Donegal literary mystery. An early draft was shortlisted by Watson Little x Indie Novella Prize, longlisted by the Caledonia Novel Award and highly commended by Irish Novel Fair. Eric Greaves’ story, Shades of Jack, was published by Impspired.com for their August 2021 online edition and for their Print Anthology that year. He has had three pieces published in the Caught Alight anthology of Irish Writers and in The Corncrake, the Fermanagh literary magazine.
