Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun.

First Monday of each month 2:00pm – 3:00pm.

First Saturday of each month 10:00am – 11:00am.

The Adult Reading Group now takes place on the first Monday of each month from 2:00pm - 3:00pm as well as the first Saturday of each month 10:00am – 11:00am.

The Adult Reading Group for 16's and over gives an opportunity for adults to discuss their latest book.

Tea/coffee available.

First Tuesday of each month 4:00pm – 4:45pm.

Ages 8 – 11.

Junior Reading Groups are a fun way for children to be introduced to a wide range of new books, authors and to make new friends along the way. Members are asked to read a chosen book before each meeting, which will be available to borrow for free from the library catalogue.

Grow Your Own Plant is a fun, hands‑on activity where participants can decorate their own plant pot and plant a seed to take home and nurture. This relaxed session encourages creativity, curiosity and a connection with nature, while giving everyone the chance to learn the simple joy of watching something grow. Join us for a Mystery Puzzle Tournament where ten teams go head to head in a friendly challenge to complete a 500 piece mystery jigsaw. With teamwork, strategy, and a surprise image to reveal, it’s a fun and competitive event for puzzle lovers of all levels.
Think fast, work together, and uncover the mystery! Ten teams will battle it out in a fun 500 piece jigsaw showdown. Who will reveal the picture first?
Event is in partnership with the Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council’s Summer Scheme for adults.
Adults can be younger than 50 and people can bring dependents to participate alongside and take a space.

Library Forest Trail invites children and families to explore the library through a fun, nature‑inspired trail filled with discovery and creativity. Participants can enjoy leaf rubbings, take part in an exciting scavenger hunt, and finish by collecting a take‑home nature hunt pack to continue the adventure outdoors. This relaxed, interactive activity encourages curiosity, observation and a love of nature, all within a welcoming library setting.
