Customer Notice - Temporary Study and Library Space Opens in Dungannon

Study room inside Ranfurly HouseBook collection station in Ranfurly House

Library customers can access a temporary study and borrowing space in Ranfurly House from Monday 18 May, while repair works continue following recent flooding damage to the library. 

From Monday to Saturday, local students and library users are able to use the space for studying, independent work and browsing a selection of library books to borrow and return. 

We know how important Dungannon Library is to the local community, especially at this busy exam time, and we are very grateful to Mid Ulster District Council and the team at Ranfurly House for supporting this temporary arrangement.

Opening hours: Ranfurly House, Dungannon 
Monday – Saturday 9:30am – 5:00pm
Late night opening Thursday until 7:30pm

Customers can also continue to access eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and eNewspapers online through our digital library services.

Thank you for your continued patience and support while works take place in Dungannon Library. Please keep an eye on our social media channels and website for further updates.

Tea and Newspapers  
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00am to 1:00pm.

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Rhythm and Rhyme  

Every Wednesday from 10:30am to 11:00am.
Booking is not required.
Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.


Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Mindful Colouring groups are for anyone who wants to explore the world of adult colouring with intricate colouring patterns and designs. They can enhance well-being, help calm the mind and relieve stress through relaxed, meditative colouring in.

Knit and Natter  
Every Thursday from 11:00am to 12:30pm.

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Page Turners Reading Group  
Second Thursday of every month from 4:15pm to 5:15pm.

Booking is essential.

This group aims to allow everyone’s reading experiences to be shared and enjoyed. Participants don’t have to be library members but if you join, you can borrow the book the group will be discussing for free.

We are currently taking names for our new teenage Reading Group which will take place on the 2nd Thursday of each month. This group would suit ages 11 years and over.
