Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Rhythm and Rhyme

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Cryptic Corner  

Every Saturday from 10:30am - 12:30pm.

Monthly Storytime and Craft Session  

Please contact the library for event dates. This event is suitable for children aged 0-4yrs; children aged 8 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Storytime sessions help young children develop a love of books, improve their listening skills, inspire creativity and feeds their imagination. Join our friendly staff as they read popular books and introduce children to a whole range of different authors.

Lego Club  
Lego Club for children aged 8 -11 years.
 
Occurring every four weeks from 3:00pm until 4:00pm.

Knit and Natter  
Every Wednesday from 2:00pm - 4:00pm.

Booking essential.

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Junior Reading Group  
First Monday of the month from 4:00pm - 5:00pm. Age 8 - 11 years.
 
Junior Reading Groups are a fun way for children to be introduced to a wide range of new books, authors and to make new friends along the way. Members are asked to read a chosen book before each meeting, which will be available to borrow for free from the library catalogue.

PIPS - Suicide Prevention Ireland support service  

Weekly on a Wednesday from 1:30pm - 2:30pm.
A PIPS befriender will be available in the library for help and support.

Exhibition/Display: Focus Photography Club  

Focus Photography Club members are sharing their passion for photography in this special exhibition in Lurgan Library where you have the opportunity to view some award-winning photography shot by club members. The photographs were captured from a variety of sights and scenes, illustrating the creativity and artistry of the photographers. Whether purely for the enjoyment of the photos, or to whet your appetite to exercise your own creativity, it is an exhibition not to be missed. The exhibition starts 15th August and runs until the middle of September.

Big Summer Read 2026 - Spine poetry  

Come along to Lurgan Library and try your hand at spine poetry. A fun way to discover poetry! By gathering books off the shelves and stacking the titles of books you have chosen and reading the titles aloud you are able to create an incredibly unique poem.

NIPSO information sessions  

Raising awareness of NIPSO’s role in investigating complaints about public services, and to ensure that people understand how to access this free, independent, and impartial service. Helping support individuals in resolving their own concerns, but also to help drive improvements in public services for the wider community.

Lurgan Library Adult Reading Group  

Every 4 weeks on a Tuesday from 6:45pm - 7:45pm. Telephone or call into the Branch.

 

Adult Reading Groups are a great opportunity for members to join in some lively literary discussions in a relaxed, friendly environment. The groups encourage people to read for pleasure, share their enthusiasm and express opinions about books and their authors.

 

The group meets on a regular basis and the book the group will be discussing can be borrowed from the library catalogue for free.
