Knit and Natter  

Weekly every Tuesday from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.
 

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Reminiscence Group  
First Saturday of every month beginning from 10:30am – 11:30am.
 
You are invited to come along to our Reminiscence Group held in Kilrea Library on the first Saturday of every month.

Rhythm and Rhyme  
Every Thursday from 10:30am to 11:00am.

Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.

Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

‘What’s Your Story’ Writing Group  

First Thursday of every month between 2:00pm – 4:00pm.

Lego Club  

Every Thursday from 3:00pm to 4:00pm
 

For children aged 4 - 10 years. All children must be accompanied by a parent/carer.
Come along to have some lego building fun. Fun and creative ideas for things to make and build.

Storytime  

Weekly, every Tuesday from 3:30pm to 4:00pm. Suitable for ages 4-8 years.

Storytime sessions help children develop a love of books, improve their listening skills, inspire creativity and feeds their imagination. Join our friendly staff as they read popular books and introduce children to a whole range of different authors.

Tea and Newspapers  

Every Saturday from 2:30pm to 4:00pm.
 

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Junior Reading Group  

Third Saturday of every month between 12:00pm – 12:45pm.

 

For children aged 7-9 years, come and join our monthly Junior Reading Group. This group is a fun way for children to be introduced to a wide range of new books, authors and to make new friends along the way. Members are asked to read a chosen book before each meeting, which will be available to borrow for free from the library catalogue.

Big Summer Read - 'Animal Mask' Craft  

It's time to kick off Big Summer Read with a roar at Kilrea Library, as we invite children aged 6-11 years to come along and create their very own 'Animal Mask'. Using our selection of craft resources, you decide if your mask will be wild like a lion or cute like a cat. Don't forget to show your master piece off to our friendly library staff too.

Go On - Meet Kubo the robot!  

Learn the basics of coding with an interactive game that helps Kubo get to school, play football and go to the shops.
Suitable for 4-10 year olds.

Big Summer Read - 'Fantasy Castle' Lego Challenge  

The Big Summer Read is getting magical at Kilrea Library, as we invite children aged 6-11 to come and take part in our 'Fantasy Castle' Lego Challenge. Using our selection of Lego and Duplo pieces, your challenge is to build your own unique fantasy castle, fit for any magical being to live in.

The Big Summer Read is about to turn magical as Kilrea Library prepares to celebrate the local Fairy Thorn Festival. Children aged 6-11 years are invited to come along and take part in our 'Fairy Inspired Suncatcher and Wand' craft. Using our selection of craft resources, join our friendly library staff and make your very own unique suncatcher or wand, ready to take with you to festival.

Big Summer Read - 'Stories and Craft at the Festival' Special  

As Kilrea village comes together to celebrate this year's Fairy Thorn Festival, the Big Summer Read takes it grand bow with a special 'Stories and Crafts at the Festival' session. Join our friendly library staff, as they set up a stall at the Fairy Thorn Fair and invite children aged 6-11 years, children aged 8 years and under must be accompanied by an adult to come along and listen to magical themed stories and enjoy a selection of festival themed crafts. 

From 11:30am - 12:30pm
Booking not required.
