Customer Notice: Enniskillen Library - Redevelopment Plans Progress

Libraries NI can confirm that a contractor has now been appointed and work will soon commence on the new Enniskillen Library.

In order for this work to proceed, Enniskillen Library will close to the public from Monday 21 September 2026, with the last day of opening on Saturday 19 September. All events and activities planned for Saturday 19 September will go ahead as scheduled.

The closure marks an important stage in plans to provide a new, modern library for Enniskillen and the wider community. Customers are encouraged to keep an eye on the Libraries NI website and social media channels for the latest updates.

Duplo play  

Come along and have fun building Duplo! Fun and creative ideas for things to make and build.

This fun event is for children 1-4 years and takes place on Tuesday Mornings.

Children aged 8 and under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Rhythm and Rhyme  

Every Wednesday from 11:00am - 11:20am. Booking not required.

Rhythm and Rhyme is an exciting free programme to introduce children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories in the library. Rhythm and Rhyme is a great opportunity for children to have fun and learn in a relaxed venue while giving parents and carers the chance to socialise.

Lego Club  
Every Thursday afternoon from 3:30pm - 4:30pm

Knit and Natter  

Every Friday from 10:00am - 12 noon.

Knit and Natter Groups are for adults who enjoy knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. They are free of charge to attend and participants have the opportunity to share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Members can bring along a project they are already working on or can start something new.

Every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00am to 12 noon.

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Adult Reading Group  

The Adult Reading Group for 16's and over gives an opportunity for adults to discuss their latest book.

 

Meeting on the first Saturday of the month at 2:00pm.

Roald Dahl Day: Storytime & Craft  

Join us in Enniskillen Library for this free family activity celebrating the stories and poetry of Roald Dahl. We'll be listening to excerpts from our favourite Roald Dahl books and making our own craft creations to take home.

Suitable for children aged 4-11, accompanied by an adult.

Go Green! Decorate your own plant pot  

Join us in Enniskillen Library for this free children's event, as part of out Go Green activities. We will be decorating our own plant pots and planting seeds to help pollinators.

Teenage Reading Group (Monthly)  

Please note this group will recommence in September 2026, please contact the library for dates.

 

Once a month on a Tuesday from 5:00pm - 6:00pm.

 

Junior Reading Groups are a fun way for children to be introduced to a wide range of new books, authors and to make new friends along the way. Members are asked to read a chosen book before each meeting, which will be available to borrow for free from the library catalogue.
