Knit and Natter  

A group for anyone who enjoys knitting, crochet, cross stitch and other crafts. Share hints and tips, swap patterns, meet new people and learn new skills. Bring whatever you are working on at the moment or start a new project.

 

Every Tuesday from 6:00pm - 7:30pm.

Rhythm and Rhyme (Wednesdays and Fridays)  
Every Wednesday and Friday from 10:30am to 11:00am.
 
Booking is essential.
Rhythm and Rhyme sessions introduce parents and children aged 0 - 4 years to the wonder of rhymes, songs and stories.
 
Each session offers an entertaining opportunity for children to engage with others, provides a good foundation to develop their reading, listening and language skills and of course to have lots of fun!

Mindful Colouring  
Every Thursday from 11:00am to 12 noon.

Mindful Colouring groups are for anyone who wants to explore the world of adult colouring with intricate colouring patterns and designs. They can enhance well-being, help calm the mind and relieve stress through relaxed, meditative colouring in.

Tea and Newspapers  
Every Friday from 3:00pm to 4:00pm.

Tea and Newspapers groups give adults the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and discuss local and national affairs in the newspapers while enjoying complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits.

Storytime  
Weekly, every Monday from 3:30pm to 4:00pm. Suitable for ages 4-8 years.
 
Storytime sessions help children develop a love of books, improve their listening skills, inspire creativity and feeds their imagination. Join our friendly staff as they read popular books and introduce children to a whole range of different authors.

Adult Reading Group  
Last Wednesday of the month from 2:30pm to 3:30pm.
 
Adult Reading Groups are a great opportunity for members to join in some lively literary discussions in a relaxed, friendly environment. The groups encourage people to read for pleasure, share their enthusiasm and express opinions about books and their authors.
The group meets on a regular basis and the book the group will be discussing can be borrowed from the library catalogue for free.

Sensory Playtime  

Monthly on the last Thursday of every month from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. Suitable for ages 3+ years.

Sensory playtime in Ballymoney Library offers children a dedicated time with various sensory equipment for sensory-based play.

Create Your Own Christmas Lights' - Children's Craft  

In celebration of the official Causeway Coast and Glens Council 'Ballymoney Christmas Light Switch On' event in the town, Ballymoney Library invites children aged 4-10 years to come along and get into the festive spirit with our fun filled 'Make Your Own Christmas Lights' paper craft. 

 

Guided by our friendly library staff and using our selection of craft resources, join us in making a twinkling, bright craft piece, ready to take with you into the town for all the celebrations.

World Hello Day - 'Hello to You too' Coffee Afternoon  

In celebration of World Hello Day, Ballymoney Library invites you to come along and join us with our 'Hello to You too' Coffee Afternoon. While enjoying a nice cuppa, we want you to help us make someone's day by saying 'Hello' to at least 10 people during the event.

Coochie Coo Music and Movement - 'Christmas Bedtime Playdate' Family Event  

As the evenings draw closer and the sky gets darker, Ballymoney Library invites you to come along and join Coochie Coo for a magical Christmas Bedtime Playdate. 

 

For children aged 6 months to pre-school, get into your jammies, hold teddy tight and enjoy a Christmas themed multi-sensory music and movement session, through the use of acoustic music, dynamic props and sensory light elements.

The Salvation Army - Christmas Carols Music Performance  

Ballymoney Library is delighted to welcome The Salvation Army into the library, who will be delivering a wonderful musical group performance as they sing a selection of Christmas Carols, as part of our Christmas celebrations. We warmly invite you to come along and enjoy this fabulously festive performance and join us in supporting the great work that The Salvation Army do.

Christmas Icons' Family Scavenger Hunt  

The Christmas Spirit is in full flow at Ballymoney Library, as we invite all the family to come along and join our friendly staff in a fun filled 'Christmas Icons' Scavenger Hunt. Using our Scavenger Hunt Activity Sheet, your task is to search the library and find all the icons of Christmas secret hiding places. Be sure to watch out for the naughty elves - they're really good at hiding.

Join us in Ballymoney Library as we get into the Christmas spirit and wear our festive Christmas Jumpers to celebrate Christmas Jumper Day 2025. Will you join our friendly library staff in donning your best Silly Santa's or Rocking Reindeers attire? We look forward to seeing.
